Space Engineers Skins Sale (Concluded)

SUMMARY:
  • 6 skin sets available for purchase
  • Sale starts September 25, only open for a few days
  • Store option has been requested by players
  • Rules of screenshot competition are not changing

This sale has now ended. Thank you for your feedback and we hope
you enjoy your newly acquired skins!

Hello Engineers!

Today we’re excited to announce a special limited-time sale for some select skins you’ve been asking for! Starting on Monday, September 25, you will be able to purchase six skin sets. This sale will only last for a few days, so make sure to check it out on Steam Item Store (this sale has now ended) before it’s too late!

The skins up for sale are:
  • Graffiti
  • Police
  • Prisoner
  • Skeleton
  • Digi Camo
  • Lava

We’ve had lots of requests from players asking for a way to simply purchase skins instead of spending time chasing down containers to find those elusive badger boots. In light of the ongoing screenshot competition we’ve decided to not sell all the skin sets, instead we’ve selected some of the more popular mid-tier sets for you to purchase.

If you’re only missing one or two pieces from a suit, you can buy those separately, but if you buy all eight pieces at once, you get a special bundle discount!

If you have questions about the skin system, see my blog post about skins for more info. We addressed some of the most common questions and concerns in this post when we released skins.

The rules for the screenshot competition haven’t changed, and users who have purchased skins won’t be judged any differently. We are judging the screenshots based on style, composition, and creativity, not which skin you bought. So keep sending in screenshots whether you bought your skin from the workshop or earned it the hard way. All of us at Keen love seeing the amazing creativity coming from our community, so keep it coming!

Space Engineers is still in development. Everything in the game is subject to change.

  1. I like this as a temporary solution, but longterm I'd like to see a system with which you can combine a few of the unwanted items into something you want. I am accumulating a lot of the common gear (badger, cow and leopard mainly) and I'd get about 0,02€ per item if I sell them to the community (who in matter of months won't need any more of those items at all).

    1. That is great idea, to be able to combine several unwanted items into another 1 item! I would love to see that.

    2. Yes, that would be great; it would fit in with the whole Space Engineers theme! Shred a few small ships, and make a big one! Take apart a few small skins, get some tricot cloth, make a better suit!

    1. Yes, you can still earn these in game through drops just by playing. The store is completely optional.

  4. doesn't make a way to craft a starting crafting assembler or refinery to start from zero even after it being pointed out to be needed if you start with nothing or you end up with nothing. but decides to make skins for sale instead.... yea not getting any of this garbage.

    3. Can't wait to see where this game ends up at journey's end! I love the idea of the store option for the skins, by thw way. Also, I have a feeling I know what y'all are cooking up. I'm not gonna be that guy, though.

  6. Great job! I don't mind the skins as a way to make a little extra income to keep you guys working on the game. Never thought I would see a leopard-print astronaut, but with Keen Software, you never know what to expect! Keep up the great work!

  15. On behalf of anyone who loves this game, has supported you over the years, and wants to see you succeed, I'm sorry for the toxic whiny little entitled brats you have to deal with. Please understand, they represent the very vocal minority. This is a solid feature to add to the game. It's not ladders, an in-game economy, cross-server jump drives, or One Grid to Rule Them All... but it's pretty solid. Keep up the good work, lads.

    1. While I believe that it is indeed a minority, i have to ask where the line between reasonable criticism and inapropriate comment is. if a ,whiny little entiteled brat' is something to deal with, a person who may have to say something that just reflects the feedback of those who ALSO love and support this game i urge you to Not represent anyone who loves this game, its funny how that comment even got approved with this agressive wording ^^ it is a sign that the team is supporting the opression of different opinions. Sidenote: If u ask for Feedback, thats what u will get. Deal with it, but respect opinions.
